WICE: Building Women Leaders for India’s Clean Energy Transition

The Climate Fellowship for Women in Clean Energy, under the Women in Climate Entrepreneurship (WICE) initiative by the Climate Collective Foundation, is a comprehensive program aimed at empowering women across India. The fellowship provides structured learning, mentorship, and practical experience to develop leadership and entrepreneurship skills in the clean energy sector.

India’s clean energy movement needs new, diverse leadership to solve pressing climate challenges and create impact where it matters most. The Women in Climate Entrepreneurship (WICE) initiative—driven by the Climate Collective Foundation (CCF) and supported by Good Energies Foundation—is CCF’s flagship program to cultivate the next generation of women innovators, founders, and professionals in the climate tech sector.

What is the WICE Climate Fellowship for Women in Clean Energy?

The Climate Fellowship for Women in Clean Energy is a unique, fully-funded, 6–9 month program designed for early-career women graduates, researchers, and aspiring entrepreneurs across India. With a special focus on women from Tier-2 cities and the Himalayan region, the fellowship aims to equip participants with:

  • Practical business skills for climate entrepreneurship

  • Deep sector knowledge in clean energy, mobility, and digital innovation

  • Real-world exposure via startup simulations and hands-on internships

  • Access to CCF’s network of experts, founders, and mentors

Delivered through the Startup Earth Centre (SEC) platform, the program is accessible, self-paced, and built with insights from CCF’s Women in Energy Entrepreneurship experience.

Fellowship Tracks: Pathways for Every Ambition

Participants can select from three high-growth tracks:

  • Future Mobility: Gain fluency in electric vehicles, sustainable transit, logistics, and emerging models reshaping mobility in India.

  • Clean Energy Access: Engage with decentralized renewable energy solutions, last-mile connectivity, and market innovations driving energy inclusion.

  • Data & AI in Clean Energy: Learn how digitalization and AI are transforming energy generation, storage, distribution, and entrepreneurship.

Each track features targeted modules, expert videos, founder case studies, and practice-driven learning.

How WICE Equips Women for Success

  • Blended, Real-World Learning: The fellowship combines business literacy, startup simulation exercises, and applied project work.

  • Mentoring and Ecosystem Access: Fellows learn from a diverse group of experts, entrepreneurs, and mentors drawn from India's clean energy ecosystem.

  • Career and Venture Opportunities: The program opens doors to internships with startups or the chance to develop a business plan under expert guidance.

  • Gender-Inclusive Mission: By prioritizing women outside metros, WICE is breaking barriers to build a gender-diverse climate tech workforce.

Become a Changemaker (or Support One!)

CCF invites experts, founders, and ecosystem leaders to support by:

  • Recording short, experience-based video insights

  • Mentoring or training fellows on real sector challenges
