ROLE SUMMARY
The Project Manager will own the end-to-end planning and execution of all Deewaar tile and brick installation projects from site survey and scheduling through installation, quality checks, billing and client handover. The role combines strong project planning discipline (Primavera P6 / MS Project) with hands-on site leadership and requires frequent travel to project locations across India.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning & Scheduling
• Prepare detailed project schedules in Primavera P6 (or MS Project) with WBS, activity durations, dependencies, critical path and resource loading.
• Plan material dispatch from the factory in coordination with production and logistics so that site supply matches installation sequence.
• Track progress against baseline, update schedules regularly, and flag delays with recovery plans.
• Prepare manpower, tools and equipment plans for each site (scaffolding, cutting tools, adhesives, anchors, etc.).
Site Execution
• Conduct pre-installation site surveys: substrate checks (RCC, block masonry, fibre cement board), wall measurements, levels and access.
• Lead installation of Deewaar cladding tiles, brick slips, corner units and jali/brick systems as per approved drawings, method statements and manufacturer guidelines.
• Supervise site supervisors, site engineers and installation contractors; allocate work and ensure daily productivity targets are met.
• Resolve site issues quickly — substrate defects, layout clashes, colour/lot variation, breakages — in coordination with R&D and the design team.
Quality, Safety & Documentation
• Implement installation QA/QC checklists: substrate preparation, adhesive coverage, joint width and alignment, grouting, pull-off/bond checks and final cleaning.
• Enforce site safety practices (PPE, working at height, scaffold safety, housekeeping) and maintain safety records.
• Maintain daily progress reports, photo documentation, material reconciliation and wastage records.
• Capture lessons learned from each project to improve installation SOPs and method statements. Cost, Billing & Client Management
• Prepare BOQs, installation cost estimates and budgets; track actual costs against budget for every project.
• Prepare measurement sheets and running bills; coordinate client certification and payment follow-ups with the finance and sales teams.
• Act as the primary execution contact for clients, architects and main contractors; run site progress meetings and handle handover and snag closure.
• Onboard, evaluate and manage third-party installation contractors and applicators across regions.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (mandatory). A diploma or certification in Construction/Project Management is an advantage.
Experience
• 3–5 years of project execution experience in construction, with at least 2 years in façade, cladding, stone, tile or finishing works.
• Proven experience managing multiple sites simultaneously and working with subcontractors.
Technical Skills
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 (preferred) and/or MS Project — scheduling, baselining, progress updates and reporting.
• Good understanding of wall cladding systems (wet/adhesive-fixed and dry/mechanical), tile adhesives, grouts, substrate preparation and relevant IS codes.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings; working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in MS Excel for BOQs, cost tracking and measurement sheets.
Personal Attributes
• Willingness to travel extensively (up to 60–70% of the time) and stay at project sites for extended periods.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving ability and composure under deadline pressure.
• Clear communicator with clients and site teams; fluency in English and Hindi. Kannada is a plus.
• Interest in sustainable construction and new materials.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
• Projects completed on schedule vs. baseline.
• Installation cost vs. budget, and material wastage %.
• Quality: snag count at handover, rework and client complaints.
• Billing and payment milestones achieved on time.
• Site safety record (zero lost-time incidents).
WHAT WE OFFER
• Opportunity to build CarbonCraft's installation function from an early stage.
• Exposure to high-visibility architectural and industrial projects with innovative low-carbon materials.
• Competitive salary, travel and site allowances, and growth into a senior execution leadership role.
CarbonCraft is a Bangalore-based design and material innovation startup, building Zero Cement, Zero Firing & Zero Clay based technology to develop building products transforming industrial byproducts into high-performance, design-driven building materials. We repurpose materials that would otherwise be discarded such as industrial residues, construction waste, and other byproducts into tiles, panels, and walling solutions using our proprietary MATR Made Technology, merging sustainability with design.
