Role Description: The Sr. Solar Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in New Delhi. This position is responsible for designing rooftop solar PV systems, including detailed system layout, string sizing, cable routing, and equipment selection. The engineer will prepare and review single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical drawings, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements. Day-to-day tasks include performing site assessments, conducting energy yield calculations, creating bill of materials, and supporting proposal and tender documentation with accurate technical inputs. The role also involves collaborating with sales, project management, and installation teams, providing technical guidance during execution, and optimizing system designs for performance, cost-effectiveness, and long-term reliability.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong domain knowledge in the Solar Industry and Solar Power, including current technologies, standards, and market practices.
• Candidates should possess practical expertise in Solar Systems and PV Design, covering system sizing, layout planning, performance modeling, and documentation.
• Candidates should possess solid skills in Electrical Design, including single-line diagrams, protection schemes, cable sizing, and grid integration.
• Relevant experience in solar PV system design for commercial, industrial, or institutional projects, preferably in an engineering or EPC environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical discipline.
• Proficiency with solar design and simulation tools (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD) and MS Office for reports and presentations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and mentor junior engineers.
