Job description & requirements

We are seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to support R&D efforts focused on sustainable and carbon-upcycled building materials. This role is ideal for students who want hands-on experience in material testing, lab experimentation, and documentation while contributing to climate-positive innovations in the built environment.


Roles & Responsibilities


Material Testing & Lab Support

Assist in preparing and testing material samples for strength, durability, and performance.

Conduct basic lab tasks: mixing materials, preparing specimens, recording observations, and maintaining equipment.

Perform simple quality checks such as density, surface finish, water absorption, and visual inspections.


Research & Data Management

Support literature reviews and data collection on sustainable construction materials.

Organize and enter test results into structured formats for analysis.

Prepare documentation, maintain R&D records, and assist in drafting test reports.


Coordination & Field Support

Coordinate with design/business teams to gather product requirements and provide basic technical inputs.

Assist in on-site trials, demos, and small-scale testing under guidance.

Arrange materials, tools, and supplies for ongoing R&D activities.


General Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization within lab and testing areas.

Support daily R&D activities by tracking workflows and preparing simple presentations or summaries.


Skills Required


Technical Skills

Basic understanding of construction materials and material testing methods.

Familiarity with lab equipment and standard civil engineering testing procedures (optional but beneficial).

Ability to conduct measurements, record data accurately, and follow test protocols.


Analytical Skills

Ability to observe, document, and organize experimental results.

Basic data handling skills using spreadsheets or templates.


Soft Skills

Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.


Bonus Skills (Not Mandatory)

Interest in sustainable materials, carbon capture & utilization (CCU), or material science.

Exposure to construction chemistry, durability tests, or mix design.
